Imagine you finally got your hands on the book you've been dying to read. Now, picture your ideal place to cozy up with that book. Do you have it in your mind? For me it would be laying on a floor or spinning in a seat. For most, it may not be be sitting in a hard chair and desk. As a ELA teacher my goal is to help my 4th graders fall in love with reading and writing. I want them to be lifelong wild readers who devour books and steal time to read and write whenever they can. To do this, I want to create an atmosphere in my classroom that invites those moments. Being flexible in work spaces allows for students to feel comfortable in their environment. Feeling comfortable allows for risks to be taken and learning to happen. I'm working to create a classroom environment where risks are the norm. Please help me create a space for my students that they can be comfortable to grow, learn, and fall in love with reading and writing!
