10% of my students Reading grade is reading books throughout the nine weeks, comprehending, and answering questions. They must read at least 4 books outside of the curriculum. Most of my students do not have transportation to the public library or cannot find books they are interested in the school library. I would like to create a space for them in the classroom, so they can accelerate their reading level and master the goal set by the school. Reading builds comprehension and helps students connect real-world examples in their writing. This is a win-win strategy for both ELA and Reading.
