These calculators will help my students gain the mathematical skills necessary to do well in Algebra II, on the ACT, and in mathematics courses they take in the future, whether it be high school or college. Many mathematical concepts require students to be able to visualize and analyze, and graphing calculators are incredibly useful in doing just this. For example, my students will be able to see and understand parent functions and transformations as a whole rather than just as equations. In addition, they will be able to work problems on the ACT much more quickly and efficiently with these calculators. Being prepared for and doing well on the ACT could open the doors to so many opportunities for my students - high school graduation, admission to college, scholarships, college and career readiness, etc. Some of my students will pursue a college degree, while others will choose to go a vocational route; the mathematical skills such and problem solving techniques students learn in Algebra II are invaluable in either circumstance. These calculators will help to engage my students in the mathematics they are learning and make it more accessible.
