Providing alternative seating/ flexible seating gives the children an opportunity to move as their brain soaks up all this new information. Their little bodies will feel more comfortable so that their brains are open to take in the wealth of knowledge as they begin their school and classroom journey. I know that some children are kinetic learners and can use these wobble chairs, floor seats, and ball seats to move as they listen to the instructions. These chairs are enjoyable to sit on as well as an effective way to encourage learning. The children can sit on them during direct instruction as well as free reading time.
