This project is a small step towards building my classroom library. I wish to offer my students a wide variety of Spanish books that can capture their imaginations and peak their interest. Apart from always making reading an activity for early finishers, I also make sure to include in my day time for my students to do nothing else but read something that they have selected for themselves at their level. It's always hard at first to get them to focus on their reading but eventually they'll start fussing because their time is up. They learn to use bookmarks because they want to keep reading the same book. They come to me later and recite facts they learned or share events from the books they've been so interested in. With these wonderful new Spanish books to add to our library, every student will have the opportunity to pick a book of their liking at a level that they can read. With so many books they'll have a chance to trade off. I would like them to be able to express themselves as readers with opinions and recommendations. I want them to continue caring for our books and our library as an integral part of the classroom.
