I have many students on different academic levels. When I teach units such as writing linear equations and transforming a linear equation from point-slope form to slope intercept form, my students sometimes struggle on the arithmetic involved with rewriting equations. These calculators will help my students focus more on the concepts and not the arithmetic. This allows them to be more confident in knowing they can master the concepts despite struggling with fractions and integers. These calculators also serve as a visual aid to abstract concepts such as exploring the nature of linear functions and how to graph them on a coordinate plane. This too, can help increase student engagement in the math classroom.
