Primary students sit on the floor for music class as the chairs in the room are too large for the younger students. Sitting on the floor offers them the opportunities to get up and move without the hinderance of big chairs. It also allows for quick partner and small group activities. Having a non slip carpet will also make basic folk dances and other movement activities much safer. All students enjoy the flexible seating the carpets provide. In the secondary grades, students work with partners or small groups in creating and making music. It also allows for quick organization for rotations through instrument stations and larger groups for musical games. All students move musically with music and the non slip feature of the carpets allow for students to experience comfortable seating but safe movement.
