Modifying my mathematics classroom seating to a technology supported setting will enable my students to learn more comfortably and enable less rigid seating. The current seating is bulky and restrictive, making group collaboration difficult. When my students work on group technology projects, they have to be able to communicate easily. When students are comfortable and allowed more flexible movement, research indicates student learning becomes more inviting. These student desks are more conducive to collaboration and technology utilization for 21st Century Skills, including mathematical simulations. As I continue to encourage my students, specifically in the STEM content areas, these desks will provide logistical support for the learning process.
