My students can protect their hands, ears, and eyes while training in class. They will also be able to properly store their fire gear in the bags. Often times the students find spiders and bugs in their firefighter gear but if we are able to put it in bags this would help remedy this problem. All students deserve a safe working and learning environment. Please help me in providing that for them. We currently don’t have any safety equipment and while that should be the first thing provided; it wasn’t. My students can use their firefighter gloves for something, but when we check the oil on our old broken fire truck they need mechanic gloves. When we are working with the chainsaw and spaying the fire extinguisher my students should have safety glasses on but we don’t have any yet. Also while working the chainsaw the students are required to have hearing protection Via OSHA guide lines.
