The classroom carpet is essential in a kindergarten classroom. It is a common meeting area for all students and the teacher. New concepts, skills, and ideas are all introduced and practiced on the classroom carpet. Also, we gather to sing songs, listen to stories, and participate in guided dances. This is where a lot of our listening and learning takes place. The students in my classroom will have the opportunity to have a place where they can gather and sit comfortably while learning together. Carpet time is an exciting time for students throughout the the day. By having a classroom carpet, this will help foster learning, curiosity, and creativity among all my students.
