The objective of this project is to expose middle and high school students to book characters that come from similar cultural experiences as their own and allows the scholar to relate and engage and grow. And, this book allows students to do this in an enthusiast way. This book is outstanding - there are different short stories from various cultural perspectives - Native American, Asian, African, Latin and LGBT, and more. By engaging young scholars in various lessons that promote their independent and oral reading skills, and that highlights different world views enhances and allows empathy and critical thinking!
