These materials will allow my students to gain experience with the technical aspects of photography and video. An entry level DLSR will help students gain the basic knowledge they need to operate almost any camera. We will explore the applications of manipulating aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. Through learning the technical aspects of photography, my students will be able to create professional looking portraits, do creative "light painting" with slow shutter speeds, and capture images in low light that would be difficult to achieve with a point and shoot camera. These cameras will also be valuable assets to my animation students, who will use them to do create stop motion animation and photograph hand drawn images for use in digital animations.
