These parents are struggling financially just to make ends meet. I just want the children in my class to thrive and be successful without worrying about not have the basic school needs. These supplies will help my students learn how to write, be creative, and think outside the box. I do not want my students feeling left out or ashamed that their parents weren't able to buy school supplies. I do not believe that their socioeconomic status should determine the quality of education they receive nor the materials they are provided.
