I notice the effectiveness of the tone and level of our voice while I converse with my kindergartners. Teaching in a softer tone allows students to feel comforted and drawn to listening to the speaker. The faces of our little learners become bright and excited as we dive into conversations about our lessons. As I walk around the tone of our voices becomes lost in the noise around us. This causes some of our deep thinkers to lose their focus and miss others across the room. Each one of us can pick up different sounds that come from near and far. These sounds direct our attention to those background sounds and connect and fire other thoughts. By being able to have a classroom audio system it would allow the voice of the speaker to be amplified while still being able to use a soft voice that sounds closer to the student. Our little learners will be able to hear and feel that the speaker is near them as we learn. This will also support our phonemic awareness and phonics as we learn to read by hearing the clarity of each sound. The system provides the listeners with amplified sound that will guide them towards hearing the speaker.
