Please help me create a kitchen area in my classroom. We will use this area to make snacks with the students. As they learn to cook, they will be learning new vocabulary, how to follow step by step directions, to try new foods, develop fine motor skills through chopping, mixing, and measuring. I believe that students will take pride in their own work and this will help them to become more adventurous eaters as well. They will be exposed to many new science and math concepts as we cook together. *nutrition and healthy eating *basic measurement *weight concepts *The Five Food groups: fruit, vegetable, grains, proteins, dairy *liquids vs. solids *melting, dissolving, mixing, absorbing
