With 89.6% of our students considered At-risk, 89.8% Economically disadvantaged and 32.8% Limited English proficiency, a classroom library would benefit my students in so many ways. I want my students to see and be exposed to all different art forms as an expression of self, including reading and writing. “Reading is dreaming with open eyes.” - Anissa Trisdianty I plan on using the books as a way to open a dialogue about how to overcome situations and thrive despite all odds, prompt personal writing and art projects as well as promote the importance of literacy in all subjects and life.
