The students will be able to use the rug and stools when I let them work around the room, choosing a spot that is comfortable for them to be productive. I also think it is important for the students to get up and move away from their desks for a portion of the day. Each day, I plan to bring all of the students to the rug for a read aloud, whole group lesson, and class talks. I want it to be an area that is inviting and comfortable. The stools will be used at the U-table to work with small groups. Our class size is small, so working in groups can really help me meet students at their level.
