These ukuleles will be used as a hands-on tool that will allow students to gain life-long musical skills while learning music theory that can translate to learning other instruments. Learning an instrument, according to research, boosts confidence in students, increases cognitive skills, and improves memory and focus. The satisfaction of learning an instrument is something the students will keep with them their entire lives. The students will learn a variety of songs from different genres and learn the stylistic qualities of each and how to distinguish between genres. The students will have the chance to share their learning with the entire student body as they will perform throughout the month of March, which is "Music in Our Schools Month".
