In my classroom I don’t want to hesitate to use technology to support all my learners. The problem is, the tech at our school is not consistently available or in good condition. In order to be able to teach students critical digital literacy skills, they need access to technology. Frequent exposure to online text and assessments will enable students to be prepared for their end of grade standardized assessments which are digital. I will also be able to teach groups of students the nuances between reading paper texts and online texts to boost their comprehension. The use of edtech in the classroom can increase creativity, and critical thinking. As a Montessori classroom, we are continually encouraging our students to research topics of interest to them and to present what they learn to others. The Chromebooks will aide in research and give students access to multiple digital presentation options. I plan on blending it into my work cycles with my students so they can choose to explore learning via edtech or other means, unlocking my students fullest potential.
