Kids connect more with what they read when they can see themselves in the characters. I want to provide options for our students that have characters of diverse cultural backgrounds. These books will be placed in our school library for checkout by all students. My goal is for the students at my school to see themselves in the books that they pick up. With this in mind, I have selected the best in new books with characters from diverse backgrounds. These books are also highly engaging and teach important social skills that will help our students to be successful in school, and in life.
