Including flexible seating into my classroom will help students focus, be more comfortable, and provide them student choice on a daily basis. Students will have the ability to choose their own seating with multitudes of different options. Each table in my classroom will have an assigned day of the week that they get to choose from the flexible seating options first. Subsequent tables will have other flexible seating options available to them to choose from. I plan to incorporate an anchor chart lesson to help students understand their options, responsibilities, and how maintain care of the items. I learned from my students last year that this can make a difference in their learning and education. Providing these options demonstrates responsibility and puts the choice into the students’ hands.
