Most families in this low-income school/community cannot afford to take tumbling classes. I can offer my time and experiences, but I can't safely spot train our students in tumbling/cheer skills without mats. Mats, wedges, a balance beam and other equipment will allow our students to safely learn skills. Belonging on a team helps motivate and build confidence for the students who are struggling in school. It also teaches the students responsibility, teamwork, accountability, dedication, and perseverance. Having this opportunity is huge for these students, since their parents will not be able to afford outside leagues and private tumbling/cheer classes. Being able to start early at the elementary level, it will give them a chance to tryout later in the upper grades where they'll have to compete with kids who are well off and have been gaining skills since Pre-K.
