Students have a 1:1 iPad, which is fantastic. For many of my kids, their only opportunity to use digital technology is at school. The problem is that many of them do not have headphones, which means they can't independently listen to any presentations or media. With these headphones, students will be able to not only listen, but to create. I will be able to implement station work, where some kids might annotate a poem, others might debate a topic related to a text we're reading, others can read independently, another group can watch instructional EdPuzzle or TED Talk videos, and a group can create multimedia presentations. I can't do these sorts of activities because we don't have headphones. We have to work as a class most of the time due to students not being able to listen independently on their devices. Additionally, when we do watch presentations as a class, our current speaker setup is so pitiful that some kids have to sit on the floor at the front of the room so they can hear. These headphones will allow me great flexibility in how I instruct the students. Station work will get them moving and doing different activities. Thank you for your consideration.
