The Hamilton Bruhl listening station will give students a great start to reading by creating a listening and literacy center. Having various books will allow students to practice reading while being exposed to social topics. Having a small group listening center in the classroom will also give students the opportunity to read along with books. In first grade we learn that letters have sounds and how we blend those sounds to form words. Listening centers create a more individualized experience. Students can focus on just the story and hearing the words being read without the distraction of normal classroom noise.
