Using these engaging nonfiction books, students will read and learn about inspirational people who have overcome challenges to contribute to our country. Students will apply depth and complexity thinking to advance their thinking into 21st century learners! Students will read to complete novel projects and also write reading responses involving depth and complexity—such as multiple perspective thinking and connecting across the disciplines. Students will be assigned to similar reading level peer groups to read, analyze the characters, the plot, how the author shows the reader information and engages the reader, how characters are static or evolving, and enjoying themselves while learning.
