The stools and seat cushions will allow for flexible seating options that will allow students the choice to sit in "seats" that allow movement, comfort and sensory input. This type of movement and sensory input aids in students ability to process and focus upon taught information. Fluorescent lighting is often harsh lighting that is believed to cause eye strain, hyperactivity and/or bodily stress in students. My current classroom does not have a light switch, therefore our lights are always on. Through the use of light shades I will be able to diminish the effects of our fluorescent lights and produce a more calming atmosphere, with a bit of "shade."
