Students learn best through multi sensory experiences. When multiple senses are working together, the students' brains are more engaged and more efficient at processing and retaining information. According to Dr. A. Jean Ayres (2013), "if sensory experiences are provided daily, the individual child will seek the amount of input that is needed to feel organized, attend to learning tasks, modulate behavior, and participate more fully in classroom activities." By providing students with wobble chairs, they are able to engage in sensory activities without being distracting, let out some of their energy, stay focused, and make the classroom more hospitable for learning. Research shows that sitting in hard-backed chairs for extended periods of time is unhealthy for children's bodies. References Ayres, A. J., & Robbins, J. (2005).
