When most beginning students think of Computer Science or programming, they envision a dark screen with hundreds of lines of code passing by. Their first response is usually "I can't do it" or "When will I have the time to learn ALL of that ?" Yet, robotics provides an sensible and "see-able" solution to how computer programming can immediately translate from lines on the screen, to actions in real life. With Sphero Bolts, my students will have the opportunity to extend their learning of Scratch and block based programming to a field that makes programming tangible, approachable, and fun again.
