For students who do not enjoy school, or have not been successful, the physical environment can makes a large difference. If students are physically comfortable they are able to concentrate on learning. Choosing to stand and move, sit and move, or simply sit in a cushioned chair, are simple ways to make students feel more comfortable in their environment. Traditional desks can be too short for taller HS students, or too tight for bigger students, or simply too stationary for students to be comfortable. Then students spend more time fidgeting than learning. The items chosen will be a great start in establishing a classroom that has options for High School Students with varying strengths and abilities.
