Even though we are far away in physical distance from each other we are not alone! I want my students to feel connected to our classroom even though they are at home. These materials and supplies will help them feel as if they were in our actual classroom! I want them all to have equitable resources available to them at home. I've included lots of multicultural books for read aloud and mentor texts, math manipulative to help with hands on learning, and equipment for me to use at home. Bringing awareness to different cultures and the importance of multicultural literature is even more so relevant to our students today. I want to help expose students to allow them to gain a better understanding of our diverse cultures and their own. This helps strengthen relationships between students physically and remotely. Math manipulatives are extremely important in a students understanding of a concept. Base 10 blocks, money, and counters bring this learning to life for them. It allows them to visualize the math happening and encourage higher thought processes. Lapdesks and floor chairs will all be utilized to teach from home and eventually be brought into the classroom!
