I have center groups in my classroom and one of the centers is a listening center. I have a CD player and a very old set of headphones. These headphones do not work well because over time, the wires have become bent and frayed and the ear pieces have broken. We work in centers everyday and the wireless headphone set would allow my class to be able to hear fluent reading of books that are a little above their grade level. This is very important for beginning readers because hearing something read fluently, is the best way to teach them to be fluent readers themselves.
