Being a teacher in a LLD classroom is both rewarding and challenging. I have seen the struggles that my students have with attending for longer periods of time. I like to think of my classroom as a student centered classroom and there is no better way to do this than to think of a classroom from a child's point of view and keeping in mind their way of learning and sensory processing. Having a bean bag chair will provide proprioceptive sensory input and promotes body awareness. Being able to obtain stability ball chairs for my students to use, as they need, while learning will have them be more productive and focused because when you are using one you are constantly moving to keep it stable which in turn, can help with focus. A couch will provide a comfortable space for my students during their reading time with their peers.
