My 8th graders do a lot of public speaking. They give presentations, recite poetry, and share their writing in class. Public speaking is one of the most common phobias in the United States, and my classroom is no different. These karaoke microphones will be used to make public speaking a bit more fun. My students will use these when speaking in front of their classmates, and they might even get to do a bit of karaoke as well. My goal is to make public speaking a bit goofy by using these microphones to change the volume or the sound of my students’ voices. It is my goal to make my students confident and comfortable public speakers.
