With personal and portable sketchbooks and non-photo blue pencils, the students will be able to keep a visual journal of their drawings and develop skills toward their 2D portfolios. It is important for students to have their own sketchbooks that they can access and cultivate on a daily basis. Non-photo blue pencils are less intimidating for initial creation, allowing the students to freely get their visual thoughts down on the paper before committing. The portable sized sketchbooks are small enough for students to incorporate as they go out and explore their community surroundings and use the drawing skills they have learned to sketch-journal their interpretations of the surroundings they interact with.
