These materials will allow me to provide students with a diverse set of texts that will reshape their traditional understanding of history. I will provide students with multiple perspectives and expect them to synthesize these diverse perspectives in order to construct their own understanding of history. The materials included will allow students to demonstrate their understanding through creative projects, breaking the stereotype that history is boring. An example is allowing students to create a portrait that illustrates the essence of Manifest Destiny. I am so excited to see my students dive deep into exploration and inquiry.
