Math Manipulatives are physical objects used to aid in learning. They are not just for struggling students, but for all students. It helps to make learning an enjoyable and engaging experience. It helps to build students’ self confidence when they can use models to show their evidence. I truly believe students need to be an active participant in the learning process. Hands-on learning is real learning. Manipulatives help bring a problem to life making a new concept easier to grasp. Hands on-learning helps keep students focused and engaged throughout a lesson. I think this project will help my fifth graders to be successful in mastering their new standards.
