My students come into the classroom each and every day, ready to learn. My job as a teacher is to present to them, material that they can connect with and apply to some area of their life. If they are sitting in that classroom, knowing that I they do not have something to write with, or write on, I have to find a way to make sure that they have those things. Students do not need to be concerned about products that are needed in the classroom. I want my students to be able to focus on learning, while I create an environment that sets them up for future success. By creating this type of environment, I am showing my students that I am working with them to enable them to be successful in the classroom and in life once they graduate from high school. I teach at a Title 1 School, and a majority of the school are on Free and/or Reduced Lunches. We are also located close to a military base, so we have a high transition rate. Each of those student populations need to be able to experience the full student experience without having to think twice about having to make sure that they have supplies for the classroom.
