These materials will fit the theme of my classroom which is the wild. My goal is to embrace diversity and help students see themselves and their differences as an essential part of a greater whole. As of right now, I do not have any carpet or rug for my reading center. Students will either have to sit on the floor or read at their desks; which can be very uncomfortable. Therefore, I would like a rug for comfort and to fit my fun and engaging theme. I would also like a variety of stuffed animals so that students can have a “reading buddy”. This will encourage students to read. Also, many students will not have stuffed animals or toys at home so this gives them the opportunity to interact with toys while they learn.
