During discovery learning studnets are given the tools needed to learn a new topic on their own. To effectively accomplish this, these students need to be able to change the parameters that are inputs into the applets and see how those variations can affect the output. Through mathematics when only the teacher is adjusting those values on a projected program they students are not free to discover. With tablets at each group, my students will be able to apply previous knowledge in their daily activities to discover facts about mathematics and statistics. Studies have shown that information leaners figure out on their own is transferred to long term memory faster than when they are told the same information.
