My students are an eclectic mix of gifted learners from grades three to five. They come from a variety of backgrounds, from England, to Canada, to China. Their eagerness to learn how to code with Dash and Dot was a universal strength that bonded them in a singular purpose in the Wonder League. And, just like a family, these 12 children came together to help each other learn new skills in coding and robotics. At times, the older children helped the younger ones with a new skill or task. In this helping relationship, the younger and older children worked together in order to achieve a common goal. The older children benefited from the imaginative ideas and suggestions of their younger peers. They spent many hours working together; laughing together; and sharing together. They displayed focus, commitment, determination and heart. I would love for my other students to have a similar experience and grow as learners in the 21st century community.
