My students come to school ready and excited to learn each day! The average attention span of a 6-8 year old is about 5-9 minutes long. I spend a lot of time redirecting behaviors and attention. Some of the seating options that will be provided to them are wobble stools, lap trays, and comfy floor seats with a table. I want to allow my students the option to move throughout the day to different spaces in our classroom. This will allow my students to not be stuck in uncomfortable seats all day. When we complete our STEAM projects, students will be able to be grouped in different areas in the classroom.
