It is essential that every student who is taking an Advance Placement class has a class binder. I teach A.P. World History to mostly sophomores and a few upper class students. For many, A.P. World History is their first Advanced Placement experience. The amount of work, study, preparation, note-taking and work together in groups is challenging. I help every student learn how to become organized for every Advanced Placement class, not just mine! Their three-ring binder is organized into eight different sections. Each section will help students learn how to study for their A.P. World History exam in May. Throughout our school year I conduct binder checks for grades. When I meet with each of my students to conduct a binder check we follow a check list for what must be in their binder. Students receive a grade for every binder check that is done. As we proceed through our school year, my students are able to review, relearn, redo and enhance their understanding of the material. When we have study sessions an organized and orderly student binder is a tremendous asset that helps my students tremendously!
