These items have been thought about meticulously and are crucial to ensure success. The gift card to Teachers Pay Teachers will be used to purchase writing and grammar materials to ensure that they are getting support to bridge the gaps and help them meet the standards:CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.5.4, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.5.5. In addition, the gift card will be used to purchase comprehension materials to be used during SMART Groups time to address this standard: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RF.5.4.A. The poetry books will be used during the poetry writing unit, where students can explore and use the poems to gain inspiration towards this standard: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.5.4. Clipboards will be used in the classroom to ensure that students can move around the room and still be productive, going along with Nevada's Core Competencies: self-awareness, responsible decision making, and self- management. The task cards and question starters will be used in the morning to ensure that students have time to engage in social emotional learning daily addressing the Nevada CASELs: self-awareness, self-management, self-awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making. The math manipulatives will strengthen the students' understandings through modeling the standards: CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.5.NBT.A.1- CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.5.NBT.B.7. Headphones can be used to ensure that students can hear lessons on the computer, focus, and listen to readings on standardized testing. 90% of my students currently do not have headphones and therefore do not get to hear any of their online lessons on the online platforms; supported by Nevada's Core Competency of self-management. These are critical for the class to be successful. Finally, the chair in my room has been broken, which prevents me to sit comfortably and see students working. the chair will move up and down as I teach. This chair has been used as a student motivator as a reward, but can no longer be used.
