Students need to be healthy to learn, a sick student is not able to learn, all sick children visit one person...the school nurse. The school nurse knows everything there is to know about everything and cures everything and if she can't cure it then she will call mom. But she needs the supplies to cure it and help students stay in class as much as they can, so they can learn and grow this year and not be home sick. Sometimes the school clinic is the least thought of place, the least loved place, yet it is the place that most children visit, the place that has all the band-aids in the world, the place that can fix all the boo-boos, the place were nobody will judge you because of how you are feeling. Therefore it is only right that the clinic gets the right supplies to give the students the care they so rightfully deserve, it isn't right to have to worry if there are enough band-aids, of if I have enough treasure box for when my students loose a tooth. I would greatly benefit from an automated blood pressure cuff and take a student's blood pressure in half the time it would to take me to take a manual blood pressure. In just 6 weeks I have administered 700 pills, that means 700 Dixie cups just for when my students take their medicine. I have 30 weeks of school left and that's a lot Dixie cups I'm going to need.
