The novel "To Kill a Mockingbird," is one of the best novels of the twentieth century. The themes of equality, racial divides, and the struggle for equality are still relevant 50 years after its debut. My students will connect with these themes, create dialectical journals, analyze the justice system, and reflect on the lessons the novel and how we can take those lessons forward and create solutions to end racial bias, discrimination, and injustice. My students will write personal reflections about the impact of the novel on their world view, and how they will go forth and try to impact change in their own community.
