The materials I have requested are a small part of our agricultural mechanics training, but they play a major role in how well our students perform and learn. Safety is a number one priority when it comes to our varied instruction which includes: welding, construction, framing, painting, and animal science instruction. The glasses, ear protection, and other requested materials will be utilized by students to perform a myriad of agricultural mechanics tasks accurately and safely. Students who have the proper shop safety gear are not only better prepared to enter the workforce, but they are performing their task safely which is our number one priority! Funding is always an issue in our area. We live in a part of our state that is extremely rural and thus struggles with school funding and revenue. The very limited amount of funding we receive each year is not enough to properly replace our Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) each year as it should be. This grant would allow for the 2019-2020 agricultural mechanics students to start off their school year safely and ready to receive the valuable training that they deserve.
