Kindergarten students are FULL of energy which can make it hard for them to focus sometimes. This year I want to create flexible seating in my classroom which will give my students the freedom to choose their work space. Having different seating options (comfy pillows, bounce ball chairs, and cushioned floor seats) will not only increase choice but will give all students the ability to work in a way that's conducive to his/her individual learning style. When students are given ownership over their learning the results can be tremendous. My hope is that moving away from a traditional chair/desk classroom set-up will create a more learner-centered safe environment where all students can achieve to the best of their abilities!
