The items on my wishlist will help provide my students with hands-on learning materials to aid in their success. As a teacher of many ESL students, many of these students will benefit from the visualness that manipulatives provide. Although there may be a language barrier, the visuals will put the content into perspective. In my geometry class, students will be graphing, finding volume and surface area of three-dimensional figures, and working on project-based learning activities. My goal is to use the items from my wishlist to assist in relating the content to real-world experiences. Students are more likely to retain the content if they are able to make connections to real-life experiences.
