As we read “Little House in the Big Woods”, students will be able to experience the hard work and creativity that was needed to make the everyday items that pioneers had. We live in a time of technology, and my hope is that students will have a final product that they have created with their own two hands, with time, card, and patience. Students will learn how to sew their embroidery pattern, which can be used on our trip to a one-room schoolhouse. They will also donate another piece to a local shelter to help those in need. It may become a hobby for many!
