Interactive Notebooks are the key to help my students understand mathematics. This is where they will take notes, jot down their own ideas, and reflect on their learning. We use these every single day of the year, and by the end of the year they will have their very own math "textbook" created for and by each individual student. The duct tape and letter stickers will be used to decorate each student's notebook in their own creative way and make it their own. The duct tape will also be used to create a pencil-holder right onto the notebook by taping a smoothie straw to the front. This will help my students to keep track of their pencils better than just shoving them into a pocket or backpack. The glue and glue sticks will be used to glue in needed foldables used for vocabulary, graphic organizers, and other content. By donating to this project you will be providing students the tools they need to become better mathematicians. You will also be helping them to learn how to organize their thoughts and reflect on their learning. These Interactive Notebooks are also a great study and organizational tool, and will help teach my students how to study in college as well. Plus, you will be helping students take ownership of their own learning and have a renewed joy for mathematics.
